Acting as a mould maker…thinking as a glass manufacturer

This slogan resume perfectly the phylosophy of the company, that still today is basing its succes to handle the business relation with the client, being close to them in order to handle and solve problems in making glass hallows.

Thanks to his intuition, Mr. Giancarlo Perego left his job in IVISC to dedicate himself to his own new company full time.

He started supplying the glass manufacturer he was working with, but soon he realized the possibility to enlarge his business taking advantage of all the opportunities that a growing market and a growing economy were offering.

Very soon the basement of his house became too small and Mr. Giancarlo Perego felt that it was time for a further and significant step. In 1964 the GIANARLO PEREGO SPA was created and his headquarter established  in Via Marchesina, 58 in Trezzano S/N, where still today the company has its main production plant.

The food and beverage industry was in the middle of the Italian economical growth and became quickly a launch ramp for the Giancarlo Perego Spa.

In 1971 thanks to a huge investment the company was one of the first in Italy buying the first CNC machine, produced in Italy with Japanese electronic components. A special delegation came , even from Japan to attend to the installation of this innovative turning machine. This new technology, even if today it can seem obsolet, helped the GIANCARLO PEREGO SPA  to increase the production capacity, satisfying the increasing demand of the market. In 1980, thanks also to the good results obtained with th export, the first enlargment of the plant was done, reaching a surface of more or less 5000sqm.

A world every day more focused on ambient, pollution, enviroment has influenced consumers, preferring products considered ambient saving. The perception of people of glass as a green product, 100% recyclable, made the field of glass container growing continously in the last 2 decades. Thanks to the increase of demand in 2000 the company built up a new plant near the exixting one reaching 10000 sqm. Thanks to this further investment the company has been able to re-structure the production phases, increasing its own production capacity and improving its efficiency.

In 2001, recognizing its weakness in terms of accessories offered to the market, in order to fill the gap, the GIANCARLO PEREGO SPA drove its expansion acquiring 85% of the Croatian company SPJ – Spijliak D.O.O. This company was recognized for its technical knowledge in terms of Neckring and Guiderings production, but at that time it was facing some troubles of working capital that allowed the business operation nowaday really profitable. In 2011 was completely built the new Croatian plant allowing the GIANCARLO PEREGO GROUP to reach 15000sqm and a further enlargment of this site is now under evaluation of the board of the company.

Thanks to the vision of the founder and his son, today the PEREGO Group can count 5 sales department : Milano – Buenos Aires – Miami – Moscow and Johannesburg. 3 production unit with 74 CNC machineries, most of them robotized to maximize the capacity. 130 employees and more then 5000 moulds produced and sold worldwide.
